She was born on May 2, 1933 in Burnwell, West Virginia to Mr. Howard James Vealey and Mrs. Lizzie Jane Pritchard. She worked in management for Lockheed. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Matheney; son, Richard Matheney; son, Gary Matheney; son-in-law, Albert Mills.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Diana Mills, and Diana's children, Brandy Hill, and Kandi Merill; daughter-in-law, Gloria Matheney; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; sister, Jane Ellen Lowe; sister, Beverly Ann Goldberg; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna Marie Matheney will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Country Chapel Church with Rev. Leon Merrill officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at 2 P.M. Interment will follow at Melrose Gardens of Memories.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home.
