Edna Earl Monroe, 73, passed on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2 p.m., from Mount Talley M. B. Church in Philadelphia, MS. Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. - 1:45 P.M. Saturday, August 23, 2025, from Mt. Talley M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Talley M.B. Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Beck Funeral Home of Philadelphia in charge of arrangements.

Edna Earl Hathorn Monroe was born on January 14, 1952, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to the late Floyd Hathorn and Willie V. Hathorn. She peacefully departed this life on August 14, 2025, at the age of 73, in Moss Point, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Willie V. Hathorn; three brothers, Leonard Hathorn, T. Hathorn, and Roy Hathorn; and three sisters, Edna Mae Triplett, Marlene Jackson, and Gertie Hathorn.

Edna Earl leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, Amy Nelson of Moss Point, Mississippi; her devoted granddaughter, Katelynn Ealey; her sister, Ethel Mae Gill of Louisville, Mississippi; and her brother, George Hathorn of Moss Point, Mississippi.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews:

The late Gertie Hathorn was blessed with seven children.

The late Marlene Jackson was blessed with three children.

The late Edna Mae Triplett was blessed with nine children.

Her sister, Ethel Mae Gill of Louisville, Mississippi, was blessed with nine children.

Her brother, George Hathorn of Moss Point, Mississippi, was blessed with four children.

In total, she was blessed with 32 nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart
