Edna F. Murphy

On April 8, 2024, we said goodbye to our wonderful mother, Edna Murphy who enjoyed life in so many ways. Edna was 86 years old. She was born in Ridgewood, New York on December 1, 1937, to John and Mary Wasmaier. She graduated from St. Joseph's high school in 1955. Edna worked at Ro-Ann Industries for most of her working career. On May 17, 1958, Edna married William (Bill) Murphy. Together they had 3 children: Maureen (Wayne) Roberts of New Fairfield CT.; Bill (Kathy) Murphy of Eastchester NY and Patricia Giammarino. Edna loved playing golf and cards. Over the years, she was blessed to have many wonderful friends in both Ridgewood, NY and Manchester, NJ and this brought her much joy. Edna was the most kindhearted, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly and will be forever in our hearts. In addition to her 3 children, Edna is survived by her 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her very close friend and partner Andy Homiak and several nieces and nephews. Edna was proceeded in death by her husband Bill. Visitation is Friday April 26, 2024 from 2-6 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Road. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday April 27, 2024 at 10 AM St John's Church, Lakehurst. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Dementia Society of America @ Dementiasociety.org/donate
