Edna E. Ray, age 82 of Amarillo, passed away on October 19, 2025.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 10:00 Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Edna was born on July 24, 1943, in Silverton to her parents, Wilmer and Edna M. Stevens Archer. She attended Silverton High School and graduated from Tascosa High School.
Edna was a fabulous cook—when she cooked, she cooked real Southern Comfort Fried Food. She was the epitome of a homemaker, known for keeping a beautiful, tidy home. She also worked in the beauty industry for many years, where her warmth and care touched countless lives.
Edna was caring, loving, and had the sweetest spirit. She would do anything for anyone and was known for her generous heart. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. Edna loved playing bingo and enjoyed spending time at the slot machines. She always brought joy wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Adolfus, James D., Johnny Pat, Cotton, and Lavan, and three sisters, Corrine, Florine, and Victoria.
Edna is survived her daughter, LaQuetta Ray; son, Rocky Ray and wife, Sheila of Lubbock; a brother, Red Archer of Lockney; six grandchildren, Brandy, Shaun, Shane, Austin, Hanah and Emily; nine great-grandchildren, Victoria, Nichole, Aspen, Shauna, Christopher, Heaven, Nickolas, Levi, Zoe and Opie; one great-great-grandchild, Zaniyah
