Edna Janis Sisk

Edna Sisk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Doak-Howell Funeral Home on Oct. 5, 2025.
Edna Janis Gray Sisk, born in Collinsville, Alabama, passed away surrounded by family and love. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Janis' generosity and warmth touched all who knew her.
Janis was preceded in death by her beloved father, Thomas Eugene Gray; her mother, Hattie Tinker; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jack Leheu; and her brother, David Gray.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Tony Sisk; her daughter, Terri Sisk of New Orleans, Louisiana; her daughter, Misty Lohn, and husband, Charles Lohn of Unionville, Tennessee. Janis was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Zachary Lohn and his wife Isabella Lohn, Ethan Lohn, Madison Lohn, and Allie Lohn, each of whom brought great joy to her life.
Janis was a member of Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church. She loved her Sunday School class and supporting her Pastor. She loved people. She genuinely cared about others and was always concerned with others issues more than her own.
Throughout her career as a bookkeeper, Janis worked in several different industries, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues for her dedication and kindness.
Janis will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished always, and her legacy of love and caring will live on through her family and those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held prior to funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. At the church.
