Edna May Swanson

Edna M. Swanson, 91, of rural Enterprise passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born December 14, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Clarner) Griffith's. On December 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Lee Swanson in Talmage. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2017. Edna worked at Reynolds Sale Barn, Bailey Truck Line, Abilene Visitor's Center and drove a school bus for Chapman USD 473 for 50 years. She attended Brethren in Christ Church of Abilene and was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
Edna is survived by her three sons and one daughter - Michael Swanson and wife Kim (Forest City, NC); Steven Swanson and wife Carol (Lincoln, NE); Gregory Swanson and wife Louise (Whitewater, WI) and LeeAnn Adee and husband John, deceased (Rantoul, KS). She also has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with another one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, siblings, Joseph Jr, Robert, Edward, & Minnie Ann, and son-in-law John Adee.
Visitation will be held at the Brethren in Christ Church in Abilene on Friday, February 9th, 2024 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM with funeral services starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family memorials are suggested to the Brethren in Christ Church of Abilene.
