Edna Vogt, 83, of Marengo, formerly of Sterling, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born on December 13, 1941, in Puerto Rico, Edna was the eldest of seven daughters of Juan and Monserrate Colon. After moving to the United States, she met the love of her life, Harley Vogt. The couple married on August 30, 1969, and together they built a life centered around love, family, and faith, raising two sons and sharing many happy years.
Edna was a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. She was an avid gardener, a talented crafter, and a wonderful cook-always eager to share her skills and love through her creations and meals.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Vogt and Dennis (Tammy) Vogt; her cherished grandsons, Chase and Caden; and her sisters, Rose Perez, Eneida Colon, and Gloria Colon.
Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harley; her parents; and her sisters, Gloria, Eloise, and Lydia.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
