Her Legacy Edna Geraldine Watterson, 93, passed away December 7, 2023. She was born on December 16, 1929, in Belmont, Ohio to Wilburt Ray and Evelyn (Hanzey) Ray. Edna married the love of her life, Kenneth Watterson, on August 17, 1947, in Angola, Indiana. Edna was a reading consultant, spending over 30 years in education. She loved to read, shop and tend to her garden. Edna enjoyed playing euchre and pinochle, and collecting hummels figurines. Edna and Kenneth had summer homes in both Caseville, Michigan and Florida. Edna loved the holidays, hosting family and friends and making her wonderful pies. More than anything Edna loved to be with her family and precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edna was adored by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her Family Edna will be missed by her husband, Kenneth Watterson; her children, Michele (Leonard) Swartz, John (JoAnne "Tootie") Watterson; grandchildren, Jessie (Eddi) Watterson, Erin (Todd) Straub, Chris (Xenia) Watterson, Karen (Drew) Barth; great grandchildren, Damien, Makayla, Owen, Olivia, Sadie; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilburt and Evelyn Ray; and brother, Tom Springer.
Her Farewell Edna's family and friends will gather on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 2:00PM-4:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Community Farewell follow at 4:00PM. DJ Reed will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Residential Hospice or American Diabetes Association.
