Edna M. Whitmore, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Memorial Home in Holdrege, Nebraska at the age of 90 years.
Edna Marie was born on February 10, 1935, at Ord, Nebraska to Frank J. and Mary Elizbeth "Pearl" (Schamp) Miska. She was raised on the family farm in the Haskell Creek area of Valley County where she attended country school and graduated from Ord High School in 1952.
Edna moved to California where she first worked at Select Teas and later obtained her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in the ER as LV Nurse.
While in California she met Charles Whitmore. The couple was married on April 14, 1963, and was blessed with two daughters, Evonne and Christine.
In 1980, Edna returned to Ord with her daughters. She continued her career as an LPN at the Valley County Hospital and Nursing Home.
Following retirement, Edna continued to live in Ord where she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and caring for her dogs and cats. She later resided at Arbor Care Center in Ord before moving to Holdrege.
She was a member of the Ord Chrisitan Church, Happy Circle and Ladies VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her two daughters and a son-in-law, Evonne and Garry Mulligan of Holdrege and Christine Whitmore of Kearney; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brother, Garry, Terry and Joseph; and two sisters, Delma Mars and Vietta Langren.
To honor Edna's wishes, cremation will take place, and no services will be held.
