Edria M. Ackley, a beloved member of the Washington, PA community, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. Born in Washington on March 6, 1959, Edria’s life was marked by kindness, warmth, and a generous spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Edria was a graduate of McGuffey High School and dedicated a significant portion of her life to education, serving as a teacher aide for the Washington School District for 18 years. Her commitment to supporting students and helping them thrive was a testament to her nurturing nature. Always kind and welcoming, she had an extraordinary ability to make others feel at ease, blending a great sense of humor with a selfless readiness to put others before herself.
Her marriage to David Ackley on July 17, 2003, was a cherished union, and together they built a life filled with love. Edria was immensely proud of her children, Shawn (Tracy) Haynos and Zach Ackley, her greatest accomplishments in life. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and her home was a place of warmth and comfort for all.
Outside of her professional and family life, Edria found joy in the simple pleasures. She loved camping, traveling, and spending time with her dogs, Zoey and Blossom. These interests reflected her adventurous spirit and her deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.
Edria is survived by her husband, David Ackley; her sons, Shawn and Zach; her sisters, Joyce (Daniel) Wright, Timmie (Jason) Wright, Amy (Thomas) Ritchea and Jason (Denise) Rhoades; her best friend and cousin, Janice Kelly; and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Walter Lee Rhoades and Alice (Zimmerman) Rhoades, whose memories live on in the hearts of their family.
Friends and family are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave Washington PA on Thursday April 2, 2026 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. A funeral service will take place on Friday April 3, 2026, at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
