Eduardo Vergel Saavedra

Eduardo Vergel Saavedra, 88, of Jackson, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at CentraState Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Pasay City, Philippines, Eduardo received his bachelors and JD from the University of the Philippines where he joined the Sigma Rho Fraternity and remained a proud active member until his death. He later moved to the U.S. where he began his long and successful career in real estate. He had a love of baccarat and poker and was a prominent and respected player in the Atlantic City and Las Vegas casino world. He was a frequent participant in the casino sponsored tournament circuit with several top finishes. Eduardo loved Frank Sinatra and the golden age of music and was known to hum or sing lovely renditions of classic songs.
Eduardo was predeceased by his parents, Sofronio and Maximina Saavedra and his brothers Melchor and Florante Saavedra. He is survived by his devoted wife Rosita Saavedra; his son, Edward (Monika) Saavedra; his daughter, Pamela Saavedra; his sister, Alejandria Aguila and his cherished grandson, William Saavedra.
