Edward "Red" Matthew Addison, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 28, 2024, at Haven Hospice Lake City surrounded by his family. Born on October 20, 1942, in Jacksonville, FL, Red worked most of his life as a self-employed truck driver. His time behind the wheel was not just a job but a passion. A proud veteran, Red served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and skill earned him sharpshooter and good conduct medals before being honorably discharged. His commitment to serving his country reflected throughout his life. On Mary 8, 1968, he married Senie Everett and they built a beautiful life of love and service. He was a faithful member of Raiford Road Church in and enjoyed helping in various ministries such as the clothes closet, VBS, and Celebrate Recovery. Red was known for his sense of humor - a light that brightened every room he entered. His infectious laughter brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his leisure time, Red found solace in simple pleasures such as hunting in the great outdoors, casting lines while fishing, tending to his garden with care, and enjoying hearty meals at buffets where he reveled in good company and good food.

Red is survived by his children - Melissa (Hardy) Wood of Wellborn and Edward Matthew Addison, Jr. of Raiford. His presence will be deeply missed by 5 grandchildren - Bethany Jones, Abigail (Tyler) Parrish, Noah (Taylor) Jones, Dalton Addison, and Dustin Addison - as well as 4 great-grandchildren - Waylon Parrish, Paisley Parrish, Ensley Parrish, and Declan Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents James "Doc" and Inez Addison and his beloved wife Senie Addison, and his brothers Alfred and Ernest Addison.

A visitation will be held on June 3rd at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler from 11:00am to 12:00pm followed immediately by a graveside service at Sapp Cemetery in Raiford. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
