Edward Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2010.
Once and always a Marine Eddie joined the Marine Corps April 17, 1969 at 17 years old. He served 2 years in Vietnam. Although only spending 6 years in active duty he never stopped being a Marine. Eddie loved doing anything outdoors. He taught me how to hunt and was so proud of me when I shot my first deer. He enjoyed fishing and had some of his best times fishing on Bob and Dee Dee’s boat down the land cut out of Corpus. We went camping any chance we got. Eddie never met a stranger. Where ever we went he would make new friends. He was a true redneck. He spoke his mind. You always knew where you stood with Eddie. He had a big heart and a good soul. I will miss my best friend so much. He loved me. He loved his family and became a father to my grown children. My grandchildren were his and he was so excited about meeting the new great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Burnett, of Austin, mother, Anja Allen, of Austin, daughter, Jennifer, of California, Kim, of Alaska, son, Glenn, of Austin, granddaughter, Janika, of Alaska, grandson, Wayllin (U.S. Navy), of Great Lakes, great granddaughter, Ariana, of Alaska, sister, Shirley, of Austin, and brothers; Gerald, of Okalahoma, and James of Houston. Goodbye my best friend and partner. Stand tall Marine Semper Fi You are my heart forever Eddie’s life will be celebrated at his beloved VFW Post 8787, 500 VFW Road, Austin, TX on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made online to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation at http://austin-tx.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/local-donate.asp
