Edward Asquith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alfred Roy & Sons - Henry Funeral Service (Henry-Dirsa FH) on Jan. 30, 2026.
Worcester – Edward W. Asquith, 86, of Leominster and formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 in the Odd Fellows Home, Worcester.

Ed is survived by his neighborhood sweetheart and loving wife of 66 years, Carol A. (Paulauskas) Asquith; his three children, Michael Asquith of Worcester, Patty Frost and her husband Randy of Sterling and Kevin Asquith of Worcester; a brother, Paul Asquith of Leicester; six grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Jessica, Kerry and Tayla; four great grandchildren Taylor, Ryleigh, Niah and Gavin and many nieces and nephews, extended family and an army of friends.

The family will be forever grateful for the support and special bond of friendship Ed had with his nephew and godson Paul Asqutih Jr. and his wife Kathy.

Ed was born in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, son of the late Anne (Eckasala) Trainor. He is also predeceased by a brother Robert Asquith and two sisters, Patricia Aronovitz and Lois Moore.

Ed attended Leicester High School and retired from the Wyman Gordon Company in 2005 after working for over 30 years in both the Worcester and Grafton locations. After his retirement from Wyman Gordon, Ed enjoyed working seasonally at Hillcrest Country Club in Leicester.

Ed enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was spending time on a golf course or hunting and fishing with his friends. He loved his time playing golf at Hillcrest with "The Growlers." He always enjoyed the excitement of both horse and dog racing and was a member of the former English Social Club in Worcester.

Throughout his life, Ed was always hopeful for the best life could bring! Ed will be remembered for his loving nature, and his kindness and generosity towards others. He was a wonderful, caring man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family of Ed would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the medical workers from New England Hospice, Odd Fellows Home and UMass Hospital who took part in Ed's care over the last year.

Calling hours to celebrate the life of Ed will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward Street Worcester with prayer service to be held at 11:30 AM.
