Edward Brennan Obituary
Cliff Brennan, 94, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born in Southampton, New York. Cliff was one of three sons to the late Edward Patrick and Mary Elizabeth Brennan. He joined the United States Navy in 1950, proudly serving as a Navy Corpsmen with the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his military service, Cliff attended Fordham University and graduated from the Pharmacy School.
After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service where he built a distinguished career and ultimately served as Director of Pharmacy. He retired as a Captain (06) leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service
In retirement, Cliff became a founding resident of Mercy Ridge Retirement Community, where he served as a founding member of the resident council and chorus. He was the chairman of the health care committee and traveled on behalf of Mercy Ridge as a resident ambassador. He was known for his steadfastness, easy going nature and quick wit. He was an avid golfer, a voracious reader and enjoyed singing in the choir and spending time with his family.
Cliff is survived by his children and their spouses, Cathleen and Wesley Michael of Towson, Maryland, Maureen and Frank Raines of Ocean View, Delaware and James and Melinda Brennan of Annapolis, Maryland; and 7 grandchildren, Josh, Kaley, Ava, Cliff, Julia, Jesse and Megan and his great grandson Taylor. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela Marie Brennan and his son, John Joseph Brennan.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Stella Maris Hospice Chapel, 2300 Dulaney Valley Rd. Timonium, MD, Tuesday, October 14th at 11:00am. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am and a burial service with full military honors will be held at Mt. Erin Cemetery in Havre de Grace, Maryland on Wednesday, October 15th at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The Employee Assistance Fund of Mercy Ridge Retirement Community, 2525 Pot Spring Rd., Timonium, MD 21093
