Southbridge: Edward R. Brousseau, 85, of Therese Ave., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 15th, in Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Southbridge, after a brief illness.
He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Jane A. (Lockhart) Brousseau; his daughter, Kori Brousseau of Southbridge; a brother, William Brousseau of Florida; his sister, Pauline Livingston of Whitinsville; his granddaughter, Sabine Brousseau Garfield and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his son, Eric E. Brousseau in 2020; a daughter, Tracy A. Brousseau in 2002 and a brother, Robert Brousseau.
Edward was born in Southbridge the son of Francis and Anysie (Jolin) Brousseau. He graduated high school and went on to obtain his Associates Degree from UMass Stockbridge. Edward owned and operated a successful landscaping business in town for several years prior to retiring.
Eddie loved to be with family and friends. Ed enjoyed family gatherings and sharing his stories about life on the Jolin farm and the shenanigans he would get into. Ed loved sports, especially football. He shared that love with his son, Eric. You wouldn't think of changing the channel on the television if Eric & Ed were in the room and there was a football game on. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors. Ed always encouraged his children to play outside and enjoy the day. Edward was also quite the prankster. He loved to play jokes on his family and friends. Especially at family parties.
Calling hours for Edward will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Following the service the burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Southbridge.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
