Edward F. "Eddie" Callery, 39, of Ellington, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 26, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1985, in Rockville, eldest of three children to Edward J. and Dianne M. (McKelvey) Callery.
Eddie grew up in Ellington, was enriched by the special education program, and was a graduate of Ellington High School, Class of 2006. Eddie was proud of his work as a "maintenance man" at the Journey Found office building and enjoyed greeting and chatting with all of his fellow officemates. Eddie's hobbies and interests included WWE wrestling, monster trucks, listening to 80's rock music, The NY Yankees, NASCAR racing, and collecting Air Force patches from his sister Kristen. He was outgoing and friendly, always sparking up a conversation with the local Dunkin Donuts employee with a "nice tattoo" or "I'm a die-hard Yankees fan" and always departing with "have a good day to you." Time spent with family and friends was of great importance to Eddie. Frequent weekend trips to Mom's, holidays spent at Nana's, family reunions and weddings, and "laxin" with his fiancée Michelle were moments he treasured.
In addition to his mother, Dianne, Eddie is survived by his two sisters, Shannon E. Callery of Ellington and Kristen M. Callery, and her spouse, Nichole Elliott of Okinawa, Japan; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth "Nana Betty" (Fraher) McKelvey of Simsbury; his beloved fiancée, Michelle Lovengosky, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, his maternal grandfather John "Papa Mac" McKelvey, and his paternal grandparents Frank and Marie Callery.
A Celebration of Life Service will be celebrated on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, from 12-4 p.m. at The Main Pub, 306 Main Street in Manchester. Burial will be held privately at the request of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eddie's group home agency, Journey Found, Inc., 60 Hilliard St., Manchester, CT 06042.
