Edward Casella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Logan-Videon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - Broomall on Mar. 8, 2025.
Edward Casella, 87, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Stephanie Casella (Fioravanti), dedicated father to his son, Ed and his wife Elaine and daughters Gina Parker and the late Cheryl Rambo. He was also the proudest grandfather to his grandchildren.
Born in Germantown to the late Joseph and Rose Casella, Ed lived the majority of his life in Flourtown and Roxborough. He and his two late brothers Al Casella and Joe Casella shared a special bond and were featured in a news publication when all three Casella boys served in the armed forces at the same time together.
As the owner of Fast Eddie's and Eddie's Place in Philadelphia, Ed had countless customers, employees and friends whom he treated like family throughout his more than 30 years in business. The amount of people Ed helped and cared for over the years was significant.
An avid poker player, Ed frequented all of the local and not so local casinos. He picked up golf in his 50's and routinely shot in the 80's with no formal training. A former pitcher for his army team, Ed always enjoyed Phillies baseball.
Above all, Ed was simply just "good people" as he would describe others. His knack for storytelling was riveting and his laugh infectious. He cared deeply about the people in his life and if you were in it, you would know how special you were.
Ed is also survived by countless loving cousins, wonderful nieces and nephews and scores of friends, employees and customers.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 9:45-11:00 a.m. followed by a Catholic Mass at Saint Joseph Church located at 322 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.
Interment is private.

Ed treated all us neighborhood kids like we were his own. He always gave us 5 quarters for $1 bill to put into the pinball or video game machine.
You are greatly missed.
