I am his great niece. I remember when my mom went to see him in New Mexico, and when we came back to Colorado, he had given her her name. Running hawk! I had always hoped that I would be able to be close enough with him to learn about my culture and where people came from. I would always hope that I could have a name like my mom. I remember falling asleep to his when I was younger.

We met through Selo Balckcrow, and made several trips to sacred ceremonies at Oine Ridge in South Dakota.
He made our wedding rings, and gave them a blessing from the creator. I gave him a 30-30 rifle in trade, which he hadn't asked for, but accepted in a good way, I hoped he would go hunting again as Nancy Jo had worried about his heart. He said I had to keep that a secret. I asked "So your wife eont find out?" He said "No, if they find out you have been giving guns to Indians, you're goind to be in bug trouble!" Lol
Monica and I are still married, and wear them to this day, 30 years later. Ed made our world a better place, in a sacred way.
I have always missed him. We will meet in the "next better life" as Selo used to say.
Aho!.
With sincere condolences,
Jon and Monica Watts
