Edward Mack "Ed" Claxton

Mr. Edward "Ed" Mack Claxton, age 70, died on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at his home in Nevils, GA. He was born on June 28th 1954 in Emanuel County and attended Swainsboro High School. As a young man, Mr. Claxton farmed the land until 1982, when he turned his dedication to timber harvesting, and later settling on timber hauling. Volunteering at Compassion Christian Church and spending time with his beloved grandchildren were his life's passions. Mr. Claxton was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie James Claxton and Mildred Overstreet Claxton, his brother, Eddie Gene Claxton, and his sisters, Geraldine and Shirley Claxton.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Perry Claxton, his children, Eddie Mack Claxton (Christina), Jeremy Claxton (April), and Kristal Claxton Knox (Fred), his bonus children, Brad Smith (Barbie) and Summer Peters (Ryan), his grandchildren, Isabella Claxton, Emma Claxton, Monroe Knox, Mack Riley Knox, Johnny Mack Knox, Maci Ann Claxton, Andrew Grizich, Matthew Grizich, Zachery Grizich, Izzy Smith, and Paxton Smith, his sister, Patsy Fields, his brothers, John Claxton (Brenda), Bobby Claxton (Melissa), and Larry Claxton, as well as many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 9th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastors James Davis and Matt Kunkle officiating.

Interment will follow at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Pastor Vic Fordham officiating.
Pallbearers will be BJ Claxton, Josh Claxton, Richard Claxton, Doug Claxton, David Johnson, and Ryan Pepin.
