Edward Alvin “Ed/Eddie” Cochran, 77, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Born on May 12, 1948, in Bluefield, WV he was the son of the late Wilbur G. “Bud” and Ethel “May” Cochran. Eddie was a life-long resident of Bluefield, a proud US Army Veteran, enjoyed his career as a truck driver, loved farming, enjoyed buying and selling automobiles, but most of all loved his family unconditionally.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard “Ricky” and Roger Cochrane and sister, Lois Hanshaw.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Jean Dinger Cochran; children Edward “Brian” Cochran (Lana) of Bluefield, WV, Robin Gibson (Kyle) of Grahams Forge, VA, and Kevin Cochran (Daffaney Tibbs) of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren Heather Key (Matthew), Kristen Flack (DJ), Tyler White (Mariah), Ashley Cochran, Laiken Gibson, Lauren Brewster (John), Taylor Tibbs (Kiersten), and Sam Tibbs; great-grandchildren Cayden and Zander Key, Kelsi and Kanon Cochran-Flack, Braxten and Luka White, and Tatum Tibbs; sisters Cola Honaker, Jenny Meade, and Betty Kade (Mitchell) of Bluefield, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Ministers Brian Cochran and Donald Dinger officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Tyler White, Chris Dinger, Matthew Key, DJ Flack, Taylor Tibbs, Sam Tibbs, and John Brewster, with Honorary Pallbearers being the great-grandsons. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm.
The family extends a special thank you to the dedicated nurses and staff at Princeton VA Clinic and Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV and Medi Home Health & Hospice in Pulaski, VA for their compassionate care.
