Edward "Ed" Crosby, age 85, of Valparaiso, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, after a brief illness.

Ed was born in 1940 in Buffalo, New York, to Alvin and Dorothy Crosby. He graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1958 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country until his retirement in 1971, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.

Following his military service, Ed began a second career in 1979 with Metric Systems, where he worked for 20 years. He also dedicated much of his time to public service, serving as a Valparaiso City Commissioner for a combined 13 years.

Ed lived a full and vibrant life, enjoying many hobbies such as beekeeping, genealogy, photography, ham radio, and teaching Sudoku at the local senior center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Dorothy Crosby; his brother, Robert Crosby; and his wife of 17 years, Donna Crosby.

Ed is survived by his brothers, David Crosby and Ken (Michelle) Crosby; his daughters, Melinda Neri, Manda (Al) Hashemi, Jeana (Jeff) Miller, and Jennifer (Chris) Pelfrey; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and his loving canine companion, Cujo. He is also lovingly remembered by his best friends and caretakers, Kathy Inman and the Dozier Family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Ed's memory.

An additional celebration of life will be held at the Niceville Senior Center, 201 Campbell Drive, Niceville, FL 32578 on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
