D. Edward Curran, a quick-witted copywriter, was best known for the unique F.J. Cooper, international jeweler, ad campaign run in The New Yorker.

Ed was Senior Vice President and Creative Director of Aitkin-Kynett, a division of Foote, Cone & Belding, and Lewis & Gilman. Earlier in his career, Ed was one of the original partners of Jack Tinker & Partners in New York.

He also won three gold medals from The Philadelphia Art Directors Club and a silver from One Show.

His directorships included F.J. Cooper, Inc., Enviroscope, Inc, and Hahnemann Hospital. He attended The Art Students League in N.Y., ?cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and The Wharton School in Philadelphia.

A man of many talents, Ed was a multi-engine, instrument-rated pilot with several thousand flight hours, published numerous aviation articles, and held three Air Facts Speed Records. As an avid golfer, backgammon player, and cooking enthusiast, Ed was a member of Gulph Mills Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club, American Seniors Golf Assoc., The Rabbit, Edgartown Yacht Club, and a former member of The Racquet Club of Philadelphia, Merion Cricket Club, Doubles Club, and The Wings Aviation CC.

Ed Curran is preceded in death by his stepson, John Holton. He is survived by Ann Curran; his four children, Donald Curran III, William Curran, Charles Curran, and Alexandra Jennison; his two stepchildren, Alexandra Holton and Walter Fair; and his seven grandchildren.

This spring, a service will be held at the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA. The interment will be private. He will be missed.
