Edward George Daly passed away November 30, 2025. Born October 2, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Ed grew up with an adventurous and driven personality that never faded. He worked as a salesman for over 50 years, focusing on car sales for over four decades at Jim Causley Buick GMC. Ed truly loved what he did, earning multiple top salesman awards throughout his career. In his free time, he loved to travel, write poetry, spend time boating on the lake, snowmobiling with friends and helping coach youth baseball. Ed loved life. He approached each and every day as a blessing and was focused on enjoying every moment he had.
Ed met his wife, Barbara, in 1981. They married February 14, 1982, beginning a 44-year partnership filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Their shared adventures and quiet moments together were the highlights of his life. Ed’s greatest pride was his family; he treasured every moment shared in their company. He adored his grandchildren and was their biggest fan.Ed was the beloved husband of Barbara Daly, loving father of Shawn Daly, Kurt (Lisa) Daly,Kris Daly, Kara (Brett) Szymanski, and doting grandfather of Makenzie, Matthew, Hunter,Madison, Isabel, Emma, Jocelyne, Ava, Bradley, Lily, Crew, Havana, and Luxe. He is also survived by his siblings Alicia (aka Alice) Tatti, Sandra (Paul) Ellis, and Joseph (Kimberly)Daly. Ed was preceded in death by his great grandmother Margaret Didio, mother Adalgelia (aka Ada) Daly, brother Nelson Daly, and his son Keith Daly.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, with a memory share service at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital: https://giving.umich.edu/basket/fund/212568
