Edward Thomas Davis passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 86 as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.

Ed grew up in the farmlands of Woodstown, New Jersey and was a graduate of Woodstown High School. He served his country in the Air Force’s Air National Guard as a propeller mechanic. He was a diesel mechanic and owned his own business fixing tractor trailer trucks until he moved to North Carolina in 2005. What he valued most in life was his family and friends.

Ed’s interests in nature science, history and mechanical engineering were useful throughout his life. He was a creative man who designed and built his own race cars among many other things that he built. He liked to travel, camp and go sail boating. In recent years, he enjoyed being part of the Model A Club with one he restored. He was seen weekly at the Shepherd’s Center music jam. He also drove a race car transport truck to Bowman Gray Stadium during the racing season along with lending his mechanical skills to the drivers.

Ed’s loving, encouraging support, problem solving skills, common sense, dry humor and knack for teaching life lessons will be missed. We praise the Lord that before his physical death, he accepted Jesus Christ to be his personal Savior.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Engwall Davis, and his two children: son, Brian Davis with wife, Melissa and daughter, Kathleen Loveland with husband, James. Edward was also blessed with three grandchildren who are all married; and five great-grandchildren.

Ed attended Kerwin Baptist Church, 4520 Old Hollow Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests live berry bush plants (thornless blackberries, raspberries, blueberries) to be given which will be planted on his property to be a living memorial to his remembrance.
