Edward P Delman Jr.

After a full and rewarding life of 92 years, Edward Paul Delman Jr. passed away on 3/21/2024. He was born in Webster to the late Edward Delman and Josephine (Kowalski) Delman.
He served four years in the Navy on the USS Picking 685. He then married his wife of 44 yrs., Mary T. (DeSavage) who passed away in 2002. They settled their family in Shrewsbury, MA where he was part owner of Viking Auto Body. He then moved the family to Cape Cod in 1974 where he was owner and operator of South Yarmouth Auto Body until retiring in 1997. He was a true family man who loved the ocean, playing golf, fishing, and Foxwood excursions. He took joy in spoiling his wife and children but more joy in spoiling his 7 grandchildren. Ed was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge where he and Mary enjoyed the company of their many friends.
In 2003 Ed retired to Bonita Springs, FL. where he lived his best life enjoying outings on his pontoon boat, game nights and his favorite casinos there. He then split that time between Florida and Pennsylvania with his significant other Maureen Ladjanski, until her passing in 2020. It was there in PA he was able to spoil his great grandchildren on their yearly visit to celebrate his July birthday.
Besides his wife he is predeceased by two of his children Jacqueline Delman and Michael Delman, as well as his six siblings. Janet Mahoney, Shirley Koppel, Virginia Provencher, Carol Astykewicz, Augustus Delman, and Cornelius Delman.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Lucier of Yarmouth, and MaryEllen Cash of Harwich, and three siblings, Esther (Al) Bachant, Mary Gail Lee and Anthony Delman, also 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Our family would also like to give a special thank you to Rita Gallagher, his companion, who took loving care of him in his final years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21st, from 5-7 pm at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Morris O'Connor Chapel, 58 Long Pond Dr., South Yarmouth. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11 am at St. Pius X Church, 5 Barbara St., South Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Chandler Gray Cemetery.
