Edward Albert Dennis

Edward Albert Dennis of Leesburg, Florida passed away on November 9, 2025 at the age of 92 years. Born December 31, 1932, in Willards, Maryland, he was the son of the late William and Gertie (Hill) Dennis. He grew up on the family farm and later married Frances Wersten with whom he shared 66 loving years.

Ed and Frances made their home and raised their family in Willards MD while he worked for Perdue Farms for 32 years. Ed had a great talent for horticulture and loved working in his extensive gardens and continuing to care for the Dennis farm in his free time. He enjoyed planning vacations and taking road trips with his family. He also devoted time to volunteering at his church, Eden United Methodist.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream of living in Florida, Ed and Frances retired to Leesburg in 1996, where he continued his love of growing plants by landscaping and creating beautiful flower gardens at his new home. He enjoyed the warm weather and made wonderful memories traveling throughout the south and taking cruises with their many new friends as well as attending country music and gospel concerts all over Florida. Ed was a great storyteller who enjoyed entertaining his friends and family, playing cards and games, and finding new restaurants to experience. He also continued volunteering at his new church home, Morrison United Methodist, by serving on numerous committees, teaching Sunday School, and helping at the thrift shop.

Edward's first love was always his family. He was preceded in death by sisters Helen McCabe and Pauline Vetra, both of Willards MD, and his son Wayne Dennis of Raeford, North Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife Frances (Wersten) Dennis, daughter Cynthia Snyder of Leesburg FL, granddaughters Julie Dennis and Grace Snyder, grandson Tim Dennis of Delmar MD, and great granddaughter Kaelin.
