Edward Dittbrenner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skinner Funeral Home - Cumberland on Dec. 8, 2025.
Edward (Ed) Louis Dittbrenner, age 73, of Cumberland, WI, peacefully passed away on December 3, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Ed was born on April 18, 1952 to Arno and Shirley (Schnitzler) Dittbrenner in Burlington, WI. They lived in Rochester, WI until moving to Balsam Lake in 1954. His father was Superintendent of the Racine County Ag School and his mother was a Home Economics Teacher and 4-H leader for 30 years. Ed graduated from Unity High School in 1970, participated in football, track, played trombone in the band and an active FFA member. Ed graduated from UW-River Falls with a degree in Agriculture and was part of the Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity Epsilon Chapter. After graduation Ed worked for Federal Land Bank and Production Credit Association, and part of the Polk County Quality meets program for many years.
Ed was a big advocate for the Agriculture industry and land conservation programs and staging several disability hunts for the past 15 years. His biggest dreams were making Suffolks great again and helping youth to build their own projects to take to the Wisconsin State Fair.
Ed married the love of his life Pamela Strand on October 15, 1983 in McKinley, WI and created their home on the farmstead that Ed established in 1976 in Cumberland, WI. They raised their 3 children David, Patrick and Nicole.
Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela; his children, David (Lydia), Patrick (Christine) and Nicole; his grandchildren, Parker, Evan, Rylee, and Declan. He is also survived by his brothers, Arnie (Nancy) Dittbrenner; his sister, Julee (David) Jones; brother-in law, Daniel (Kim) Strand; sister-in law, Leta (Jeff) Wrightman; uncle, David Schnitzler; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Arno and Shirley Dittbrenner; his sister, Nancy; and his brother, Arthur.
A Service for Ed will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2532 15th Street, Cumberland, WI 54829 (McKinley) at 11 AM. Visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow the service.
