Francis Eugene Capra, 77, of Cumberland died Tuesday March 10, 2026 at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. He was born July 31, 1948 in Cumberland, WI to Michael and Lucille (Barbado) Capra. Francis was raised in the Cumberland area and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1966. He spent two years in the Army stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.

After being discharged from the Army, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and worked in road construction. He later returned to Cumberland where he owned his own business delivering sand and gravel. In 1980 he went to work at American Tool as a machine operator, until 1996 when he was diagnosed with a lung disease and had to quit working.

On June 6, 1980 he married his "darlin" Patricia (Leahy) Capra.

He was very active in 4H as a leader in dog obedience and agility for several years. He was also a youth hockey president and coach, and was extremely active in the Knights of Columbus at both the local and state level. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with family and watching his grandchildren play sports. With family he enjoyed camping and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Leahy) Capra; son, Bill (Lynn) Capra; daughters, Jennifer Capra and Ann (Josh Benjamin); grandchildren, Dylan, Miranda and Dominic Capra (Mary Webster), Jackson Smith, Jaxon and Aubriella Benjamin, and great grandson, Keanu; sister, Carolyn Tempesta of Isanti, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many brothers and sisters in law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Michael; brother, DeWayne; brother-in-law, Tony Tempesta; Godson and nephew, Mitchell Gjovig; nephew, Adam Leahy; granddaughter, Abigail Smith; and several other family members, including his first wife, Marlene Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Knights of Columbus.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 28th at St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church with Fr. Jayanna Kanna officiating. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dylan Capra, Miranda Capra, Dominic Capra, Jackson Smith, Jaxon Benjamin, Aubriella Benjamin, and Keanu Webster.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM - 7 PM on Friday, March 27 at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
