NANTICOKE — Edward Randy Eckrote, 63, of Nanticoke, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, following a long period of deteriorating health.
Randy was born March 26, 1961, in Nanticoke, a son of the late Calvin and Lorraine Lore Eckrote. He had been employed for many years doing construction work and masonry for several companies, and enjoyed riding a motorcyle prior to becoming disabled.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers: Joseph Craig Eckrote and Dean (Dino) Eckrote.
Surviving are his children: Chad Eckrote, West Nanticoke; and Torrie Eckrote, Plains Township; grandchildren: Chad J. and Bentley Eckrote; and Arabella, Joseph "Bubby," and Chase; three sisters, Nicole Lanteigne (Paul), Plymouth; Debra Conrad (Robert), and Sonia Bowman (Raymond), both of Hunlock Creek; aunt, Mildred Transue, Wanamie; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Roger C. Noss Jr., pastor of Mount Moriah Independent Community Fellowship, officiating.
Friends and family are invited for viewing and visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Slocum Cemetery.
