Edward "Ed" Bennett, a compassionate soul and devoted family man, was born on October 23, 1958, in the picturesque Niagara Falls, New York. He passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the home of his beloved sister, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication.

For over twenty five years, Ed served as an Advanced Life Support Technician with Monroe Ambulance. His unwavering commitment to caring for others not only showcased his professional prowess but also illuminated the warmth and kindness that defined his character. Ed took great pride in being a steadfast pillar of support for his community, embodying the spirit of service in all he did.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ed exemplified the values of duty and bravery both in his military service and in his personal life. He was not merely a soldier; he was a protector of life and an advocate for those in need, earning respect and admiration from all who had the privilege to know him.

In his leisure, Ed found joy in two prominent passions: his family and the great outdoors. An ardent fan of the Buffalo Bills, his spirited cheers and unwavering loyalty to the team could be heard echoing through the halls of his home. More profoundly, he cherished his role as a wonderful dad to his sons, Ed, Dano, and Andy, a title that brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

Ed’s love for the outdoors drew him, alongside his siblings, to the breathtaking landscapes of the Adirondack Region, where they shared annual camping trips filled with laughter, fishing, hiking, and hunting. In recent years, his hunting endeavors evolved into a more serene pursuit, opting to capture the beauty of nature through photographs from his deer stand rather than through the lens of a gun.

He is fondly remembered by his brothers, Fred and Alfred, and his sister, Peggy, along with her husband, Tim DeBoard, and  friend Tom Tanchick, who stood by his side as devoted caregivers during his final days. Ed's familial bonds extended to his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Jackie Widmer, who also hold a cherished place within the fabric of his life.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sue, whose love and companionship filled his life with light, and their precious daughter, Kellie, whose memory remains a source of love and longing. He is also remembered by his parents, John and Elaine Bennett, as well as his brother, John, who welcomed him into eternal rest with open arms.

The echoes of Ed's laughter, his unwavering kindness, and his profound sense of duty will resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. As we honor his memory, we are reminded of the impact one devoted individual can have within their community and family, leaving footprints of love, compassion, and cherished moments that will endure long after they depart.

Family will receive friends Saturday, May 31st from 12pm to 3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 2636 Ridgeway Ave. where Military Honors and a Celebration of life will follwow at 3PM.
