Eddie graduated from Clinton High School in 1948. He farmed with his father and attended winter semesters at University of Minnesota. While at the college, he sang with the U of M Male Chorus. He also managed the movie theater in Clinton in the late 1950’s.

Eddie met Marvel Krause through his sister, and they were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dixville, MN, on July 8, 1961. Eddie and Marvel raised their family on the Anderson Family Farm. Eddie took pride in his family, community, and church.
