EDWARD "BUDDY" EMERSON

Edward Earl Emerson, age 77, passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on May 5, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, Buddy lived a life devoted to his family, military service and his medical career.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Army and New York Army National Guard for 24 years, Buddy served his country with honor and integrity. He was activated during Desert Storm and 911. After serving and meeting his two-week activation for 911, Buddy requested another two-week deployment inside the perimeter at Ground Zero. In the Air Force he was trained as an X-Ray Technician. His Radiology career spanned over 40 years with many achievements.

An avid outdoorsman, Buddy found joy in fishing, boating, gardening and exploring the beauty of nature. Whether Buddy was telling jokes, playing poker or euchre he made every moment unforgettable.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen, his children, Guy, Elizabeth, Brad, sisters Linda Emerson, Jackie Knight, five beloved grandchildren (Angelina, Jack, Emmalee, Jaxson and Bradley) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Boyd Emerson Jr., mother, Erma Emerson, sister, Irma Jeanne Emerson Heckman and brother, Albert Boyd Emerson III.

Buddy's kind spirit, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Buddy's legacy of military service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
