Obituary of James I. Emerson

James I. Emerson, age 70 year of Pennsauken, formerly of Florida and Hawaii, passed away suddenly on February 27, 2026.

Born in Oak Harbor, WA to the late John E. and Alice E. Emerson. Devoted father of James R. Emerson and his wife Stephanie. Loving grandfather of Ashley, Taylor (Jake), Mark, and Zach. Dear brother of John Emerson (Brenda), Jan Watley (Jim), Kenton Emerson, and Phil Emerson (the late Judy). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement in 1995, James was a dental technician for the United States Navy for 20 years. Following his military retirement, James continued his mission of service by becoming a passionate advocate for veterans' rights. He worked tirelessly to assist veterans in accessing the benefits, resources, and support they had earned. James was also an active member of the American Legion.

James loved music and enjoyed collecting guitars. Over the years, he built a modest collection that reflected his personal interest and appreciation for the instrument. He liked talking about music with others, sharing thoughts on songs, artists, and albums he enjoyed. It was a simple pleasure that brought him connection and comfort.

He lived life to the fullest and always encouraged others to do the same no matter what struggles they may have been going through. James always made sure you left his house with a smile. He will be missed by all who knew him.

All services are being handled privately and at the convenience of the family.
