Emma June Weir Emerson

Emma June Weir Emerson, 88, passed away on Fri. March 6, 2026, at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. March 11, 2026, from 5pm-7pm and on Thurs. March 12, 2026, from 10am-11am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services are 11am on Thurs. March 12, 2026, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with a private graveside at Harris Cemetery in Carthage, MS.

Mrs. Emerson was born on June 30, 1937, in Carthage, MS to the late Robert Milton Weir and Minnie Jewell Thomas Weir. Mrs. Emerson has been a resident of Vicksburg, MS since 1958. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1956, attended East Central Community College and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. Mrs. Emerson retired from the healthcare field in 2000 after 39 years of nursing. She also enjoyed watching football.

She is survived by her son, Paul Emerson (Jennifer); brother, Thomas Milton Weir and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Emerson is also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy N. Stroud.
