It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Flores, He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, carrying with him the memories of a life well lived. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother. and proud US Army Veteran. He took immense pride in being a Father and Popo, often saying that his grandchildren brought him immense happiness and made his day.

Born on May 5,1948, in Harlington, Texas, Edward was the second of four boys to his loving parents, Gilberto and Maria Guadalupe Flores. He shared memories of working with his father picking cotton in the fields with his older brother, Gilberto Jr. One memorable memory involved INS agents visiting the area, Dad and his cousin attempted to flee. My grandfather had to step in and tell them my kids are United States Citizens so my Dad and his cousins had to go back to work.

He enlisted in the United States Army on June 24, 1965, at the age of 17, beginning his military service at Fort Polk, Louisiana, for basic training with the Fourth Battalion, Company C. He was later stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and served in Vietnam during a significant period in American history. My father was extremely proud of his service as a US Army Veteran in Vietnam, and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge his dedication and bravery.

On June 11, 1979,he embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of his life, Anita Flores. Over the past 46 years, they have built strong and loving family, a testament to their enduring bond and commitment to one another.

Edward's legacy will be remembered through the countless lives he touched and the cherished memories We hold dear. My we continue to celebrate his life and draw inspiration from his examples.
