Edward C. Gagnon (Ed, Dad, Sarge, Poppi, Pops) passed away peacefully Sunday, August 31st, with family at his side. He was born in Lowell, MA on October 19th, 1931 and was the son of Charles W. Gagnon and Marion (Metcalf)Tuttle. He grew up in Somerset MA where he met the love of his life, Anne Ormston and they were married for over 64 years. Ed graduated from Somerset High School and Bristol Aggie School of Agriculture where he received an Associate's Degree. Ed retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service which included the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a training instructor at Lackland Air Force base and later became a recruiter. He also worked for the United States Postal Service. Ed was very patriotic and was an advocate for the Disabled American Veterans. He worked on the Disabled Commission for the city of Chicopee. Ed traveled throughout the US participating in the National Veterans Golden Age Games where he was a prolific medal winner in various sports. Ed was a member of the Western Mass Relics Softball League. He appeared in the Relics movie documentary which premiered at the TriBeCa Film Festival. He was undoubtedly "The Legend". He swam at Heathtrax for over 30 years, was an avid bowler, watched sports nearly every day, enjoyed going to the movies, watching Westerns and singing along loudly to Elvis Presley and Whitney Houston! Later in his life, Ed doted on his beloved dog Zoey who he took for scooter rides around his neighborhood. Ed never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face!

Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his wife Anne and son-in-law, James Gadoury. Ed was the ultimate girl dad to his four daughters who will miss him dearly; Deborah Moreau and her husband Dana of Florida, Donna Kenneson and her husband Robert of Belchertown, Susan Overson of Chicopee and Lisa Gadoury, who was his full-time caregiver for the past five years, of Chicopee. He also leaves behind a brother Herbie Tuttle of Virginia., his eight adored grandchildren, Dana and his wife Melisa, Eddie and his wife Zina, Kimberly Morrissette, Katie Kenneson-Evans and her husband Scott, Matthew Kenneson and his wife Amanda, Michael Overson and his wife Kelly Lincoln, Melissa McLaren and her husband Tim, Lindsay McMahon and her husband Kevin, fifteen great grandchildren, James, Madison, Mackenzie, Callah, Caleb, Matthew, Persephone, Mahery, Aaliyah, Mandresy, Lyla, Nola, Josie, Finn and Liam. He also leaves behind a nephew, Thomas Tuttle of Pennsylvania and a niece Lynn Wood of Virginia. He also leaves behind close friend Ernie Girard whose weekly visits made his week. Ed's burial with full military honors will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at 68 Court Street, Springfield, MA 01103
