Edward F. Garrett Jr., a beloved father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri, at the age of 78. Edward was born on August 7, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, where he would later form deep connections that would last a lifetime.

A proud veteran, Edward honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service instilled values of courage and dedication that guided him throughout his life. After returning home, he embraced the joys of family life with open arms, cherishing the moments spent with his loved ones.

Edward's personality radiated warmth and kindness. He had a profound love for his family—especially his grandchildren, Cooper Haden, Luci Haden, and Scarlett Thomure. Together, they created memories filled with laughter and joy, whether they were out adventuring or simply relishing quiet time together. Family gatherings were often highlighted by Edward’s engaging stories and his passion for sharing his hobbies and interests. He had an undeniable love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and had a keen interest in old cars, often immersing himself in the thrill of hunting and fishing.

Those who knew Edward will fondly remember him as a source of strength and laughter. His life partner, Cheryl Tucker, alongside his sisters Kathy Kelly, Laura DeWoody, and Carol Korte, stood by him as pillars of support, celebrating both his achievements and the everyday moments that defined his vibrant life. His legacy is carried forth not only by his beloved daughter, Samatha Garrett, but also by the cherished memories held in the hearts of his family and friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward F. Garrett Sr., his mother, Norma F. Garrett, and his grandchild, Ayden Danielson, as well as his brother-in-law, Larry DeWoody. Their spirits now reunite, reminding us of the unbreakable bonds of family and the love that transcends even the greatest distances.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, on March 31, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM until 12:30 PM.
