Edward "Ed" Gillenberger II Obituary Edward "Ed" Gillenberger II, age 89, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family.
Born on November 19, 1935 in Carrick, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Matilda Gillenberger. Ed was the beloved father of Linda (Larry) Szramowski and Mark (Terrie) Gillenberger.
Father in law to Peggy and Alice Gillenberger.
Grandfather of Susan (Greg) Mercer, Chris (Michael) Rupnik, Matthew, Jeffrey (Dana) Gillenberger, Alyssa, and Scott (Mylee) Gillenberger.
Great Grandfather of Julia, Jameson, Calvin, Preston and Jordyn.
Edward was preceded in death by his loving spouse, Giovanni "Joan" Gillenberger, and his sons, Jeffrey, Kenneth, and Edward Gillenberger Ill.
For over 50 years, Ed owned and operated Gillenberger Construction Inc. He had a passion for motorcycles, playing the stock market, camping, hunting, breeding birds and spending time with his family.
Family and friends are welcomed for Visitation on Tuesday, July 29th from 9:30 AM to 1 PM At Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA 15116. Visitation to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church, 2001 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA 15116 with a committal to follow at Allegheny Cemetery Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave. McCandless, PA 15101.
The family wishes to thank Gateway Hospice for their compassion and excellent care of Ed.
In lieu of flowers, memory contributions can be made in Edward's name to Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Rd. Suite 201, McKnight, PA 15237 or to The Dyslexia Foundation 6 Liberty Square #2633 Boston, MA.
