Raymond Ballantine Obituary Raymond R. Ballantine, age 86 of Gibsonia, on April 11, 2025. Son of the late Richard and Jane Ballantine. Loving husband of Ann Ballantine and father of Raymond (Lynn) Ballantine, Terri (Sean) Butler and Brian Ballantine. Grandfather of Kate (Anto) Rados, and Kelly (Jason) Wenner; Great grandfather of Melanie, Niko and Lexi. Brother of Maureen (Jim) DeDobbeleer. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a proud Irishman. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Ray and his parents immigrated to the United States when he was 9 years old. The family settled in Pittsburgh where Ray developed his lifelong friendships and love for the black and gold city. A 1957 graduate of Peabody High School and a standout on the football and baseball teams, that's where Ray met his high school sweetheart and love of his life Ann. They were married for 63 incredible years. Ray attended night school at the University of Pittsburgh, worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the HVAC industry for over 50 years.
Ray was an avid golfer and celebrated 4 hole in ones in his lifetime of playing. He was an athlete and sports fan who truly enjoyed the Steelers and Penguins. Ray was the life of the party and cherished being around his loving family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Ray always had a soft heart for children, his family is requesting in lieu of flowers memorial contribution be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate
An Irish Wake with hors d'oeuvres and drink will be held on April 24 from 5PM to 7:30PM at Sieb's Restaurant, 3382 Babcock Blvd. Pittsburgh PA 15237. TO HELP THE FAMILY PLAN FOR REFRESHMENTS, PLEASE RSVP BY APRIL 18, 2025
