Edward M. Glick, known affectionately as "Eddie" or "Papa Ed", passed away peacefully next to his loving wife of 69 years, Carol Seder Glick.

Eddie's life was defined by an unwavering commitment to family, his strength of character, and a legacy of leadership. He was born to Rose and Samuel Glick and grew up in Worcester alongside his brother Norman Glick, of blessed memory. Eddie, aka the "Mayor of Worcester," lived nearly his entire life in the city of seven hills. He and Carol raised their family down the street from his parents and brother.

Eddie graduated from Worcester Academy, followed by Harvard University and then Columbia University, where he earned an MBA. He returned to Worcester and eventually led the family car businesses: Bancroft Motors and Edward Buick. The customers-who were always right-became his friends. Eddie had the good fortune of working alongside and mentoring his sons, Larry and Jon.

Eddie was also a steadfast pillar of the Worcester community. He embodied a generosity of spirit that touched all who knew him. As a young man, he was President of the Young Adult Jewish Federation, followed by years of committed leadership as President of the Jewish Healthcare Center, Director of Mechanics Bank of Worcester, President of Mt. Pleasant Country Club, and as a member of the National Nissan Advisory Board.

Eddie Glick had an extraordinary gift for friendship, deep personal connection, and meaningful conversation. Wherever he went, he built lasting bonds of enduring relationships.

In their later years, Carol and Eddie, moved to Florida where they expanded their friendships in Boynton Beach. They enjoyed golf, playing bridge, frequent gatherings with friends, and hosting family. Although they were in Florida, they never stopped rooting for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. Fenway was like a second home to him, where he enjoyed sharing season tickets with dear friends and family.

When he was 16, Eddie knew he would spend the rest of his life with Carol. As best friends for over 70 years, they shared life's greatest joys and filled their home with love and laughter.

His gentle strength, indomitable determination, heartfelt love of family, friends and community and his ability to make each person feel seen, will live on in his children: Lawrence J. Glick (Holly), Jonathan H. Glick (Karen), and Suzanne Glick Gilfix (Ron); his grandchildren: Aly Glick Wagoner (Dan), Amanda Suchoff (Zach), Jared Glick (Shannon), Rachel Krosnick (Sam), Adam Gilfix (Ramona), Sara Karr (Jordan), Zachary Gilfix, and Talia Gilfix; and great grandchildren: Cooper, Benjamin, Sloane, Noa, Chase, River, and Lucy (born on Eddie's 91st birthday). He leaves behind his dear brother in law, J. Robert Seder, his nephew, Sam Seder and nieces, Julie and Betsy Seder. The family is forever indebted to the compassionate and dedicated care he received from Wendy Howard.

Those in his orbit will be forever touched by his legacy-a quintessential family man and eternal optimist who lived with a quiet determination to live his best life every day.

Eddie's funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester, followed by interment at B'nai B'rith Cemetery, 55 St. Johns Road, Worcester. The service will be live-streamed and accessible through Eddie's tribute page on the Miles Funeral Home website. Memorial observances will be announced at the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddie's memory can be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements are entrusted to Miles Funeral Home, Holden.
