On Saturday May 3rd 2025, Edward J. Gruszka passed away doing what he loved, playing golf on the green with friends.
Ed was 59 years old, born on February 23rd, 1966 and was a lifelong resident of Weymouth, Massachusetts. He graduated from North Weymouth High School and pursued a career in the medical field before moving to his dream job as Operations Engineer at the JLL company.
JLL became Ed's extended family that he loved so much, sharing many stories with his wife on how much fun he had with his friends at work. Ed was one of the hardest working and most dedicated individuals they had encountered and he was loved by all. A kind humble loving soul, Ed was dedicated to family, friends and faith. One could not leave Ed without a hug, he always wanted you to know how much you are loved. Anyone who ever met Ed learned what a big heart he had and that he would help anyone in need.
Ed treasured his trips to Maine with the love of his life, his wife Liz, visiting Bar Harbor, golfing with friends at a favorite golf club and enjoying special moments with family, which often included Ed cooking a big meal for everyone, one of his passions in life. Ed loved Boston sports, especially watching the New England Patriots.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Liz, of Weymouth, his brothers Michael of California and Robert of Weymouth. He was the beloved uncle to Brik and Cassius Crosby of Plymouth. Ed also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and God children, as well as his extended family in Maine and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly and cherish their memories.
Ed will join his mother, Mary Beth, father, Edward, sister, Beth Ann and brother Brian in Heaven. Also, his grandparents QFD Lt Charles F. Anderson and Ruth E Glufling. Memories of them all will live forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 5/11/2025 from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday 5/12/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Ed's final resting place will be in Maine.
