Edward Hartigan Obituary

Edward was born and raised in Lynn. He graduated from Lynn Classical and attended Emmanuel College where he received his Bachelor's degree. He was very intelligent and worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Edward had a kind and caring heart and volunteered at the Asylum in Boston.
He will be dearly missed and is survived by his beloved partner of 23 years, Andrew Deshazo; his loving mother, Donna M. Hogan; step-brothers; Jay Hogan and J.T. Hogan, step-sister, Ashleigh Germano; aunt, Elizabeth Silvia; his uncle, Thomas Silvia, and his wife, Barbara, as well as his grandfather, Carl J. and many loving cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Edward J. Hartigan Sr.; his stepfather, Thomas Hogan; his grandparents, Julia R. Silvia and Joseph and Betty Hartigan, as well as his aunts; Barbara and her husband Ed Hoy, Vera and her husband Milt Bryson, Judy DiCarlo, and uncle, Buddy (Melvin) Silvia.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Edward's memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, or at the American Diabetes Association website, or to the American Kidney Fund.

I am absolutely heartbroken to hear about Ed´s passing. He was an irreplaceable part of Artisans Asylum, and his generous spirit and kind heart touched everyone he met. I can still picture him vividly as we conversed about his latest creations or simply caught up on life. It astonishes me to think that he carried his illness so silently, all while spreading kindness and warmth to those around him. His immense talent and extraordinary personality will be profoundly missed. Words can hardly capture the depth of my condolences for his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace Ed, we love you!
