Edward F. Hoffman, Sr., 89, of Cornell Avenue, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, PA, died peacefully late Saturday evening, December 31, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Sylvia G. (Zapach) Hoffman, who passed in 2015. Born in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Paul and Pauline (Zeigler) Hoffman.
Edward was employed as a truck driver by Horwith Trucking Co., Northampton, for over 6 years retiring in 1995. Previously, he was a self employed truck driver and local hauler for Eastern Industries. An Army veteran of Korea, he served his country with honor achieving the rank of PFC. Edward was a member of the VFW and American Legion, Palmerton Posts. He also was a member of the F. and A.M. Lodge, and the Shriners.
Survivors: Gary A. and wife Olive Hoffman of Kunkletown, and Bret and wife Aletha Hoffman of Palmerton. 4 grandchildren. 6 great-grandchildren. Brother, Donald and wife JoAnn Hoffman of Omaha, NE. He was predeceased by son, Edward F., Jr. in 2000, and a sister, Gladys Sakusky.
Services: Private Graveside Services. Interment, Sacred Heart Church Parish New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton. Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online Condolences may be made to his family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
