Born on September 1, 1947, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ed was the son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Kelly) Izzo. He was a proud graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge and went on to earn a degree in finance from Boston College.

Ed was the beloved husband of Mary (Malloy) Izzo for 54 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and service to their community.

Professionally, Ed had a long and accomplished career in finance, most notably serving as Chief Financial Officer at the Whitman & Howard Group as well as various Management roles within Tyco International which afforded he and Mary the opportunity to live abroad in England for a few years. After retirement, Ed dedicated many years volunteering for SCORE, where he mentored countless business professionals and entrepreneurs.

A devoted member of both Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield, Ed volunteered his time on several parish finance committees. His deep commitment to his faith was evident in both his work and personal life.

Beyond his professional and community contributions, Ed had many passions. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, an enthusiastic reader of history, and a dedicated youth baseball coach for many years in the Nashua South Little League, mentoring countless young athletes. He also cherished the opportunity to travel-whether for business or pleasure, Ed embraced every journey with curiosity and joy.

Ed will be remembered for his wisdom, warmth, and generosity. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

In addition to his wife Mary, Ed is survived by his four children Jake Izzo & his wife Stephanie of Huntsville, AL, Joseph Izzo and his wife Erin of Marston Mills, MA, Judith Tilden and her husband Matthew of Stoneham, MA, and Lawrence Izzo and his wife Ashley of Reno, NV; his nine grandchildren Julia Izzo, Matthew Izzo, Andrew Izzo, Jonah Izzo, Maragret Tilden, Logan Tilden, Noah Stewart, Tressa Izzo, and Wesley Izzo; his three sisters Patricia Izzo of Marston Mills, MA, Louise LaPointe and her husband Robert of Medway, MA and Anne Aalto and her husband Jay of Marston Mills, MA; his godson and nephew Michael Izzo and his wife Andrea of Tyngsboro, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ed was one of the nicest people you could ever know. I worked for Ed back in the 70s at Nashua Corporation. I always said he was the best boss anyone could ever ask for. Rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Love, Denise and Bruce Enman

I remember Ed fondly. My husband Jim was a friend of Ed´s along with other Matignon graduates during their years at BC. My sincere condolences to Mary and their family.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
This is from another Matignon graduate who was there before Ed, but we both share our love and gratitude for the school.
