Joyce Lapierre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rochette Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 17, 2026.
Joyce M. Lapierre, 82, of Nashua died peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Jean (John) Lapierre with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Joyce was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on June 16, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Doris (Lemery) Durand. She received her education in the Nashua.

In 1978 Joyce became the doting mother to her daughter, Jennfier. A job she took very on wholeheartedly. In 47 years not a day went by without the two talking. In the mid-eighties, early nineties, Joyce also worked as an assistant kindergarten teacher at St. Patrick's Kindergarten. She loved seeing their little faces run through the door every day. She was so popular with the children that just recently she was recognized by one of her nurses. Joyce also remembered her.

Joyce lived with a sense of wonder that made every experience brighter. She was a devoted Disney fan and joyfully looked forward to the more than 30 trips she took with John and Jennifer. Delighting in everything from the beautiful sights and friendly faces to the unmistakable magic that filled the air. She also cherished quieter moments; fishing alongside John and never passing up the chance for a camping trip, especially to Salisbury Beach State Park.

Above all else, the moments she treasured most were those spent with her family, who were always at the heart of her happiness. In addition to her husband, John she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lapierre and her significant other Scott Cook of Nashua; her two siblings, Ray Durand and his wife Pixie of Stoddard, NH and Edward Durand and his wife Janet of Hollis; her in-laws, Roland Lapierre of Nashua; Linda Riley and her husband Richard of Hollis; Lucien Lapierre of South Carolina and sister-in-law Patty Lapierre of Alabama; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was predeceased by her sister-in-law Mona Lapierre.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joyce's visitation on TUESDAY, March 3rd from 2 until 4 PM at Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
