Arnauld LaPierre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Britton-Wallace Funeral Home - Auburn on Feb. 17, 2026.
Arnaud R. "Ron" LaPierre, Jr., 88, of North Oxford, died peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Michelle T. LaPierre, who passed in 2006.

He leaves his wife, Carol A. (Fryzel) LaPierre, with whom he shared nearly 52 wonderful years of marriage; his son, Scott M. LaPierre and his wife Yvonne Abraham, of Nahant; two grandchildren, Justina LaPierre and Khalil Abraham; plus a great-granddaughter, Olivia Brooks, with another on the way. Ron also leaves his sister, Luarne Heller and her husband Bill, many nieces and nephews, and a good friend, Dale Bland, wife of the late Dave Bland, with whom he built a house in Connecticut in the 1970's.

Ron was born in Westerly, Rhode Island, son of the late Dr. Arnaud R. LaPierre, Sr. (an ear, nose, and throat specialist, and husband of the late Margaret) and Lucie (Cowan) LaPierre. He was raised and educated in and around Norwich, Connecticut, and graduated from University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force, and was honorably discharged in 1967.

Ron began his career in personnel and salary administration, working in senior positions at Dartmouth College and University of Massachusetts Medical Center, before becoming a real estate broker in the greater Worcester area. Later in his career he studied to become a stock broker, and spent time working at Fidelity.

Ron grew up on the ocean, sailing and kayaking, and enjoyed any occasion to be on or near the water his entire life. A lifelong learner, he was an avid reader of history, politics, and science fiction. He could regularly be found engaging in strategic board games with Carol or competing with her nightly at 'Jeopardy!' He was a World War II aficionado, able to recall countless military facts on demand. In his younger years Ron collected stamps, comics, and other collectibles; he carried his love for collecting into adulthood, leaving behind a large collection of esoterica. Ron supported New England's sports teams, especially the Patriots, and enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Ron's military service, please consider a memorial donation to Veteran's Inc. (www.veteransinc.org).

Ron's family will be celebrating his life privately. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
