Edward Marcos Jackson passed away unexpectedly in Rock Hill, South Carolina on June 9, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center. Originally from Concord, North Carolina, he attended Appalachian State University, where he played soccer. He then played for the American Soccer League on the Carolina Lightning team. Marcos was a lifetime competitor, playing and coaching soccer until his death. He was a beloved mentor and coach to young athletes, and he leaves behind a legacy of nearly three decades of men and women who benefitted from his coaching and friendship.
The family is hosting a celebration of life that will be at 4:00 pm on June 16, 2024, at Wolfe Funeral Home- Chapel with Rev. Craig Abee officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Saidee Jackson, father, Jack Jackson, and sister, Lucy Jackson. He is survived by his long-time significant other, Lisa Wilber, their son, Mason Jackson (wife Hayn) and his sisters, Wilma Jackson and Connie Lepper (husband John). He is also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in the greater Fort Mill-Charlotte area.
Flowers are welcome; however, donations can be made to the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association in Marcos' honor, 7320 Broad River Road, Suite K, Box 312, Irmo, SC 29063.
