Edward C. "Eddie" Jackson, a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, fiancé, and friend, departed this life on July 28, 2025, at the age of 44. Eddie is the cherished son of Alvin M. Griffin, Sr., and the late Shelia F. Jackson. He was born on February 6, 1981, in Portsmouth, VA.

Growing up alongside his siblings, Eddie's upbringing significantly influenced his life. With his exceptional wit and humor, Eddie was an extraordinary individual known to lift spirits and spark joy even in the darkest moments. In a testament to his determination, Eddie pursued his education through Portsmouth public schools, his General Education Diploma (despite being incarcerated), and went on to attain an Associate of Arts and Science degree from Southside Virginia Community College. Through his radiant personality, marked by infectious enthusiasm and unwavering generosity, Eddie inspired a multitude of people who knew him.

Eddie is predeceased by his mother, Shelia F. Jackson

He leaves to cherish his memory, his caring father, Alvin M. Griffin, Sr.; his loving fiancé, Alexis Valentine; his compassionate siblings, Corey M. Jackson (Tonya Jackson), Dionte Jackson, Alvin M. Griffin Jr., Shantelle L. Griffin-Johnson (Bonisha Q. Johnson), and Jessica E. Griffin.

Eddie will remain in our hearts eternally and will be genuinely missed.
