Edward Michael "Eddie" Kennison

Funeral services celebrating the life of Edward "Eddie" Michael Kennison, 93, formerly of Zanesville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial with full military honors by the Licking Co Veterans Alliance will follow in Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
Eddie passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, following a brief illness. He was born in Gratiot on August 22, 1928, the son of the late Zenith (Michaels) and Damon Kennison. He was a graduate of Hopewell H.S., class of 1946, served honorably in the US Army in Korea (24th Infantry Division, 5th regiment combat team), and retired as a rural route carrier for the US Postal Service.
He was a member of the Zanesville Post of the V.F.W. and Moose Lodge of Zanesville. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and golfing.
Eddie is survived by his daughter Julie Winnestaffer of Westerville, his grandchildren Kyle (Amanda), Taylor and Jordan; his great-grandchildren Jackson and Kennedy; and several nieces. And great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Rick Winnestaffer and his sisters Marilyn Jones and Joan Kennison.
The family will receive friends on Friday from Noon until time of the funeral at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home 285 East Main St. (US Rt 40) in Kirkersville.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the V.F.W. post #1058, 1318 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
